Ben Spurgin Insurance has placed the insurance for trucking companies since the 1930s. Some have been our insureds for multiple generations of their own families.
The first Spurgins came to Dallas from Illinois in the late 19th century. The last five consecutive generations of Spurgin men have had the name “Benjamin” as a first or middle name—the youngest Ben Spurgin, now a preschooler, already is thrilled to see big rigs and loves his toy trucks!
The agency has been headed since the late 1980s by young Ben’s grandfather, Robert Benjamin (Bob) Spurgin, who earned his MBA at UT Austin and holds the coveted CPCU designation in property and casualty insurance. He loves trucks, too.
